About

“Go out in joy”

Like most other things in my life these days, the new Born2Roam site expresses my Christian faith. This world isn’t my home; I’m just passing through on my way to Heaven. While I’m in this world I might as well look around a little. “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” (Isaiah 55:12 ESV) I do a lot of outdoorsy stuff, but mostly I ride bicycles. On roads. Trails. Paved, gravel, dirt. Solo and in groups. Year ‘round. The truth of Psalms 139:14 is never plainer to me than when I’m pedaling: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (NIV) I am a wonderful work, as are the environs through which I ride. When traveling I often visit local churches. I love seeing how different faith bodies praise, worship, and study the Word. If I visit your church once and never come back, it’s nothing you did. It’s just that I’m not from around here. Thanks for the hospitality you showed me in the brief time we were together. When viewed on larger screens (718+ pixels), the reviews I’ve posted end with a bit of Scripture, maybe related to the theme of the ride but probably not. More likely just a verse or verses I like and want to share. Maybe they’ll provide the seed for meditation while you ride or hike. As an author of Christian non-fiction, I’m available to speak or to present a seminar based on my book, Transformed, Not Conformed: Escaping worldliness to receive godliness (available on Amazon).
